Veslehorn is one of
the most
prominent mountains in
Hemsedal. Not the highest, but with its vertical cliffs, and
the waterfall Hydnefossen,
it certainly makes an impression.
|
The
parking place is at more than 1000m altitude. (tollroad, 70Nkr today).
From there it's perfect access to the mountains. |
After
a while Veslehorn is straight ahead. Buit before that it's
a
small descent to Hydnefossen. |
|
|
|
"Thanks to" all the rain, there is
plenty of water in
Hydnefossen right
now.
|
The waterfall is 475m and completely
vetrical for 155m, truly impressive! |
Our
route continues, along the lake Horntjerne and with Storehorn,
1482m,
just behind. |
|
|
|
A
while
after the lake we reach this point. Veslehorn to
the right, Storehorn to the left.
|
From
that sign it's less than 100 altitude meters to the summit. |
At
the summit. In the background, almost in the middle, is Skogshorn 1728m. |
|
|
|
There
is
a Swallowtail up here. These relativly rare
butterfles seem to like
higher altitudes. I have often
seen them around peaks.
|
Behind
the summit, in the valley, is the village Hemsedal. |
