Söthålshön, Fulufjället, 931m 10/9 2026

I arrive to Naturum, west of Särna, around 14:30.
Here's a bit on the way towards Njupeskär.
This is the perfect time to come here, if you want to see the mountains in autumn colors. Fulufjället is a large mountain area. From north to south around 35km.

At Njupeskär waterfall after a short while. It's one of the
highest in Sweden, with a total height of
93m.
After the waterfall I climb higher. To the north are the mountains close to Idre; Nipfjället, Städjan and Fjätervålen. And the autumn colors! What can I say? incredible!

Up here we find Old Tjikko, the oldest tree known in the
world. C-14 dating gives an age of around 9500 years.
It's the root system that goes back to that age. Poor Old
Tjikko lost it's top in a winter storm, a few years ago.
After Old Tjikko I climb on, to the highest parts of the peak Söthålshön. Here I have to walk "off track". From here the mountains in Norway becomes visible, in the west.

On the descent I follow a different path, leading back
  towards Naturum.
